Q+A

Q: What does “Full Service Studio” mean?

A: Full Service Studio means just that- FULL SERVICE. We will walk you through every single step of the portrait process. From the in-person consultation and planning of your dream session, to helping you select and design the perfect products to display in your home. We are here to give you the very best portrait experience possible! Please read more about The OBP portrait experience here.

Q: How far in advance should I book my session?

A: OBP generally books out about 6-10 weeks in advance, especially during the busy portrait seasons of March-May and Sept-December. In order to keep quality high, OBP only reserves 8 sessions per month. It is never too early to book!

Q: What is the turn around time for my images to be ready for viewing/ordering?

A: Approximately 2-3 weeks after your session takes place, your images will be ready for viewing and you will be invited back to the studio for your premier viewing and ordering appointment.

Q: What can I expect at the viewing and ordering appointment?

A: At the viewing and ordering appointment, we will start by showing you a slideshow of your fully retouched images on our large screen TV. We will help guide you in selecting the perfect ways to display your images from OBP’s stunning product line.  If you choose to display any of your images as wall art, we will custom design your wall pieces together with our software, and show you exactly how your wall art will look on your walls before ordering.

Q: What forms of payment do you take? Do you offer payment plans?

A: OBP accepts cash, checks, and all major credit cards via Paypal transactions. We do offer payments plans on product orders of $1,000 or more. Please inquire to learn more about our payment plans.

Q: What is the turn around time for my products to be ready?

A: Completion of product orders can take anywhere from 3 business days, to 6 weeks, depending on the product(s) ordered. I have carefully hand-selected products from around the globe based on quality and craftsmanship, and shipping/processing time for each product varies. I will be able to give you a more accurate range of product delivery at your ordering session.

Q: Did you go to school for photography?

A: While I am mainly a self-taught portrait artist, I have attended numerous online and in person workshops to learn and grow my craft. I have traveled all over the country to be trained and mentored by some of the best talent in the industry, and I continue to make it a priority to invest in photography workshops and conferences every single year.

Q: When is the best time to take maternity portraits?

A: We recommend maternity portraits to be taken between 28-32 weeks. This is when the belly is full and round, but before the swelling and discomfort starts to set in, and Mom is still comfortable moving around.

Q: How do we schedule a newborn session if we don’t know when the baby will actually arrive?

A: When reserving a newborn session, we will write your due date on our calendar to secure a session slot on our schedule, then once the baby is born, we will schedule the actual session to take place before the baby is 14 days of age.  I highly recommend reserving your newborn session before the 3rd trimester to ensure availability. All newborn sessions take place in my photography studio located in Historic Downtown Winters.
